- Orissa
Voluntary Health Association(OVHA):
Orissa is the largest and oldest federation of NGO's working
in the field of Community Health and Development.
- OVHA
work closely with the local NGO's, International and National
Agencies as well as Government for enhancing the health
status of Orissa.
- We
are recognised as a Mother NGO by the Government of India
to implement different activities of Reprodutive and
Child Health (RCH) programme and Indian System of
Medicine & Homeopathy (ISM&H) .
- OVHA
as credible Organbisation have establised very good rapport
with Government of Orissa. OVHA is closely associated with
the planning and implementation of several important programmes
of the state Government. As a result of good professional
work OVHA has become member in various important committees
of the state.

we do ? |

- Provide
financial and technical support to NGO's for implementation
of projects/programmes.
- Imparting
Training, specially to the NGO's functionaries and
beneficiaries on different projects, on different areas
of Community Health and Development.
- Conduct
research and studies on important areas on health and development
as per the needs of the state.
- Produce
books, newsletters, leaflets, posters and other health and
related education materials in Oriya language on health
and related topics for different kinds of readers and users.
- Provide
emergency health care and relief to the victims of natural
calamities.
- Extend
consultancy to different agencies on health and development.
- Do
pro-active lobby and advocacy for the formulation and implementation
on appropriate policies and programmes related to health
and development. Also working as a pressure group at the
time of need.
- Try
to address the less addressed health problems.
- Our
areas of concern are women's health, reproductive and child
health, HIV/AIDS, Environment, Nutrition, Genetic Disorder,
School Health, Pollution, Sanitation and Hygiene, Water,
Life style related disorders, organisationdevelopment, Disaster
preparedness, tobacco control etc.
